                SHARP PC-Fax Driver Release Notes

=================================================================

Thank you for purchasing a SHARP Digital Copier. These release
notes contain important information that should be read
before installing the PC-Fax driver. Please read these notes
before proceeding with the installation of the driver.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Important points when using the PC-Fax driver

------------------------------------------------------------------

Please note the following important points related to sending
Faxes.

* This driver can only be used when the printer feature and Fax
feature have been installed in your digital copier. In
particular, if the Fax feature is not installed, you will be
able to send Faxes from your computer to the digital copier,
however, the digital copier will not send the Faxes to their
destinations. Be sure to verify that the digital copier is
equipped with the Fax feature before attempting to send Faxes.

* You must be logged in as a user with full Administrator
privileges to successfully install this driver. Windows XP
provides a mechanism to allow non-administrator users to
perform administrator tasks if they know the login to a
full administrator, but it does not work for PC-Fax driver.
If presented with a Windows "Run As" dialog, Cancel the
dialog and log in as Administrator before starting or
continuing the installation of PC-Fax driver.

* When you use SC-Print2005, you need to install Internet
  Explorer 4 SP2 or later.

* When you use SC-Print2005, switching the user, you have to
  restart your computer.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

                              Hints

-----------------------------------------------------------------

* In as far as is possible, please use the latest version of
software applications which support each of the operating
  systems.

* Long or irregularly shaped documents cannot be transmitted.
Transmission may not be possible of a document that contains
  pages of differing size.

* Characters, lines, or photos in color may not appear correctly
in transmitted Faxes. Be sure to check the Fax in the preview
screen and adjust the density of the color if needed before
sending the Fax, or send the Fax in black and white.

* Brightly-colored lines or fine lines may not appear in
transmitted Faxes. In this event, use a darker color or a
  thicker line.

* If a "Collate copies" setting appears in the print dialog box
or the printing settings of an application, do not select this
setting. If this setting is selected, only the first set of
copies will be transmitted; further sets will not be
  transmitted.

* If you fax a document that was created on a different computer,
it is possible that the documents uses fonts that your computer
does not have. In this event, the transmitted Fax may appear
slightly different from how the document would have appeared if
Faxed from the original computer. To have the document appear
the same, you must install the fonts that the document uses on
  your computer.

* When documents created in some applications are Faxed with a
  resolution setting of 200 x 100 dpi (Text) or 200 x 400 dpi
(Fine), characters may appear double and the image may break
  down.In this event, use a resolution setting of 200 x 200 dpi
(Small Text) or 400 x 400 dpi (Super Fine).

* If you use a TIFF file in the cover sheet editor, select no
compression or "Pack bits". If you use a TIFF file with G4 or
G3 compression, the image will not display correctly.

* When editing a cover sheet in the Cover Sheet Editor, use the
"Save" command to save the cover sheet. If the "Save as"
command is used to change the location of the cover sheet,
the cover sheet may not display or transmit correctly. When
creating a new cover sheet, the "Save as" command can be used
  without problem.

* The destination name, Fax number, number of pages, and memo
will not appear in the preview screen of the Select Cover
Sheet screen. If you wish to check these items before Faxing,
use the preview window in the transmission screen or the
  enlarged view (preview) screen.

* The preview image on cover sheet editor is sometimes larger
than print area. This is because of the specification of
print area of printer driver that you selected and there is
no problem in Fax transmission. You can see the actual print
  preview in PC-Fax preview.

* The page zoom and rotate commands in the PC-Fax viewer are only
effective in the main screen; they are not effective in the
  reduced view (thumbnail) screen.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

may appear and the preview screen will not open. In this event,
do not use drag and drop; instead, open the file in MS Word and
  print from MS Word.
